What's in it for you?
You will primarily become a vital piece of our precious MOI project. Moi Mobiili is a renowned, fully-digital Finnish mobile operator. It’s our privilege to develop and maintain their innovative core system. In practice, you’ll get to design and develop functionalities enabling Moi’s hyper-automated back office and self-service online portal for end customers.
As a Lead, you will be the mentor of your colleagues. We believe development happens through everyday work. Your role will be instrumental in lifting team members to the next level with approaches like pair programming and code review. Being able to continuously improve is one of our core values, and we’ll be happy to keep your mind fresh any way you like.
On top of that, you will be part of the decision making team, providing your insights on the architecture side. All in all, you will be the responsible for the backend development of the product.
The tech stack consists of Java (Spring) and React, while Camunda serves as a workflow and decision automation tool. Your influence can be seen in the code of new features as well as in keeping production bugs to a minimum. Oh, and we are also fans of doing code reviews.
In this role, Java is the knitting needle you’ll use to weave the system. Ideally, you have been weaving in commercial SW Development for 8 or more years. However, we’re not strict about counting the time you have spent looking at Java on your screen - learning about your general skillset and vision as a developer is what matters most!
Communicating well with your team and the customer is central, so fluent English is needed and Finnish is a super plus.
Working in Finland and other faraway lands:
You can join us in Finland or as a “digital nomad.” Take a look at our blog post covering the multiple possibilities of working with us in the office or remotely.
It would be great if you are already present or looking to relocate to Finland because most of the Moi team is there, and physical presence is key when pair programming. This does not rule out the possibility of working as a nomad. In that case, we ask you to be available during Finnish working hours.
